This Saturday, we are very proud to present our first sponsorship show for the new video release by the St. Louis based group John Henry and the Engine at the historic Off Broadway.
Stalking the local scene for a few years, the band is working their collective asses off to be heard and become better musicians, while front man John Henry continues to hone his songwriting skills. With a sound firmly rooted in the hard charging rock ‘n roll of classic artists like Springsteen, Petty and Mellencamp, the band adds a deep emotional soul that grabs the listener by the ear and drags you in to pay attention.
Over the last few months the band has spent a lot of time in Nashville with former Uncle Tupelo and Wilco drummer Ken Coomer to record new material. After meticulously perfecting a batch of new songs, the results are some of their strongest work to date. Already playing high-profile gigs opening for the likes of Lucero and Jason Isbell, those types of opportunities will only become more frequent after the recent hard work put in by the group.
The new video, recorded recently here in St. Louis, will be shown on the big screen with live music throughout the evening for your entertainment. Opening the show are Wax Wine and Emily Wallace.
Local brewery, Perennial Artisian Ales, sponsors the evening of music and video providing listeners a chance to try their fine craft beers brewed at their south city headquarters.
